In every movie and tv show there's a warning for a penalty of unauthorized distrubution and reproduction. If I made videos of scenes from a tv show or movie and NEVER SHOW it to anyone not even post it online, is that still breaking the law? Is that still considered reproduction and distribution or whatever that warning sign says.

Technically, yes - since you reproduced it. Since you never attempted to make a profit, no problem. |

People do that all the time.
I suppose that, technically, it's illegal. But I think the creators of these movies/shows are more worried about people bootlegging them.
If you just keep it for yourself, no problem.

I believe it is not illegal as long as you do not upload it online or try to sell it. So if you don't do that or have a copy of the movie you should be legally safe.

I don't think it's legal to copy it and give it out. You can get in trouble, but it's very unlikely that you do. The reason is taht the owners don't have the incentive to go after you, since you're not rich from the distribution.
However, if you sell copies, make money, then you'll get in trouble. Most companies get you in trouble because they want money. If there's no money, then it won't be worth their time.
Just like people hack cable to watch it for free. It's illegal. Will they get sued? usually not. |

those warnings prohibit commercial use, not private/in home use. a director of a movie or tv show could sue you for a violation of his intellectual property rights, but since you're not making any money with your work, you don't have anything to worry about. |
