My dad put a bell in out backyard so that when ever he rings it he wants my brother to come outside and help him(sounds kinda like something a slave owner would do but not exactly what my point is about). If my brother can hear that from his 2nd floor room what are the neighbors gonna think? Is there a law that would like consider that a disturbance in the neighborhood? Then my dad would get fined? It's really embarrassing and stupid, i wanna give him reasons to take it down.

In most communities, there are "quiet hours" where it might be considered irksome---but I doubt your father is planning to use the bell after 10 PM, or before 8 AM, so I am afraid there is no legal stand point here.

The only thing that may do is violate the noise ordinance.
This is what happens when people decide they can ignore their parents. embarrassing and demeaning things occur. |

well, if it does cause the neighbors a disturbance, then he would first get a warning from the authorities. Later, he could get fined. My advice to you is to tell your dad that he could be fined and that he could try some other things like walky-talkys or cellphones. |

That's hilarious. No, it is in no way illegal. If the bell is not being rung after curfew then he's in the clear. Perhaps your father and brother can compromise with each other. Do they both have a cellphone? They could call/text. |

No it's not illegal especially if he's only doing it during the day. Unfortunately parents are always going to do embarrassing and obnoxious things (as will you when you're a parent). When I lived with my dad, he would pound on the wall even if I was sleeping and call me downstairs, but he wouldn't even give me 10 seconds to respond before he started up again. Maybe you and your brother could try to come up with something that your dad would agree upon. |

It's not illegal, but if your neighbours reported it as a nuisance the police could make him take it down if they judged it to be too noisy. |
