There is no reason to do so. If a person wants to go to a school wherein the ten commandments are posted let them pay for parochial school. |

Despite people's musings this is not a Christian nation. Most of the founding fathers were deists (God came, created the universe, then left, having no interest or involvement in the daily lives of people)
There are Muslims, Hindus and a host of other beliefs here. if you display the "commandments" of one, then ALL have a right to be displayed because they are each just as valid and 'true' as the other. Let's just display the Christian ones. What happens in a few generations if you're still Christian, but the dominant religion is Hinduism...or Shinto. They'll get theirs in class...but you'll be ostracized. Fun?
And if you're going to display them you should have to display where they came from because they are NOT new to the Bible. The Bible's authors stole and reworked them. The Commandments are derived from the Codes of Hammurabi, which themselves come from the first European tribes. |

Oppose. An amendment for this purpose would contradict the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.
Instead, I would rather see them treat Christian stories the same as they do stories from other religions. Just because it is Christian does not mean it should be banned, but it is OK to show Muslim stories. |

I support this idea as most of the commandments are laws (Thou shalt not murder, and thou shalt not steal are a couple things) and the rest of them are particularly good things to place as moral values. |
