I live in Texas now. The economy here is much better than the rest of the US. Its not just oil. We have a diverse economy, that stays stimulated by low taxes and state government that encourages capitalism. I doubt we will ever leave the union, but if we do, I plan to stay a Texan.
Don't get any ideas of moving here once we leave. We not going to be taking a bunch of illegal aleins from the US. LOL! |

I wouldn't. The U.S. would probably invade them for their oil. |

no, you can't drink oil and Texas doesn't have enough water to go around |

but that is virtually all they have. those refineries are way, way outdated. they're not the only place in this country that has oil. and then, it would all be gone in short order; then what?
take a look at the texas demographics. http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/48000.html notice anything? not where i want to live. |

No, because the last time they tried that (along with quite a few other states), there was a little war over the issue. I wouldn't want to live somewhere that I know would be in a war zone. |

I wouldn't. Texas is way to hot and humid for my tastes. |

Can't happen, but it's about the only State that could be self sufficient. Texas has the land mass, population, and resources to be it's own country [again]. In fact, theoretically, if Texas were counted as a separate country it already has the 4th largest economy in the world!
Oh, and by the way, there is enough respect for the environment in this state of farmers, ranchers, outdoorsmen, and nature lovers to make sure oil companies can't just run amok with pollution. |

Hell Yeah!!! Someone needs to stand up to Washington D.C. They have told the state of TX, that they HAVE to take money from D.C. They do not want , nor do they need this "stimulus" money. I hope TX does make a stand on this issue.
Lived in TX for a couple of years, and not a day goes by I don't miss it. Seems to be the only place in the nation where common sense is still in vogue.
Texas when I die!!! |
