A used car dealer knowingly received stolen cars and sold them onto customers. He sold hundreds of stolen cars making a profit of $250,000.
What is your sentence?

For one , all money must be paid back within the next 5 years, and to the victims of the stolen cars. Then he will be busy serving 720 hours of community service "3 months" In that time he will be a narc for the cops, He be repairing poor peoples cars, and because he's a thief he will have to carry receipts for anything he has on him that day, just in case his parole officer calls. Jail will do nothing but make him rebel more, make him contribute, and payback his debt and interact with hardworking people. |

Each State has a sentencing guideline for different crimes. Depending upon the State in which you reside and the previous history of the person that did the above, the guidelines are very explicit according to the State Law. |

If you can prove he knew each car he received was
stolen and he obtained them at separate times, each
transaction is a separate case which he could be
sentenced on.
It depends on which state this took place in, as some
states put a maximum time on this type of case.
Lets give him 6 years with and parole for another 3. |

I would sentence the car dealer to 2-3 years in prison and I would never let them be any kind of sales person again.
Not to mention repossetion of his things until everyone has their money back that was taken and his business would be closed down for it's irresponsibility to keeping legal records of their cars. |

I would sentence him to one year in prison for each stolen car that he sold. If he could repay a person from whom the car was stolen, then I would subtract one year from his sentence.
Bottom line...I would sentence him to hundreds of years in prison.
