went to ssi/disability court 3 months ago.our lawyer informed us that social security wanted a new disability onset date.the lawyer said she would have us a paper in the mail informing us of the new onset date with in the week.well its been 3 weeks and no such letter.we can not get ahold of her,even went to her office and she refused to talk to us.what can we do,can we refuse to pay her if his case is approved?and is it too late for us to fire her.been waiting 3 months for a decision from social security review judge.

its too late to fire the lawyer.you need to contact the social security office and try to get a answer from them.i would call and bug your lawyer every day.and as far as paying the lawyer you have no choice if you signed a contract with her.sounds like your lawyer is not working for you.she must be assuming that their is not a large back pay to claim.in other words she ain't gonna get paid what she has originally asked for. |
