Find answers to your legal question.

i hit a parked car and drove away, now i get a call about it?

okay so 2 weeks ago i hit a parked car in the middle of the road. i got out of my vehicle, checked to see if there were any damages, and they weren't THAT bad, so I just drove off. now 2 weeks later the police called me and said that they have an anonymous complaint for a hit and run on that street.

what should i do so that i dont get in trouble for this? how do i get out of this situation without confessing?!?!

i dont have any money so i cannot confess to the crime! and i certainly do not want to go to jail

If someone saw you do it, (which they must have or the cops wouldn't have gotten your phone number) aka: recognized you or got your license plate number, then you can't get out of it since there was a witness unless they decide not to testify against you.

Btw, it dosn't matter how bad the damage is. It's the same charge for a ding as it is if you totalled their car. Unless someone was hurt or killed, then it's alot worse.

You shouldn't get out of it. You did hit and run. Why should you get out of it now?

I assume from your question that you didn't have insurance either, Here come the Judge.....

What a disgusting thing to do. If you can't be a responsible driver then don't drive at all.

They got your license from a witness. Case closed. It is hit and run, don't make it worse by telling a lie. If you have insurance this is what it is for. If you don't, make arrangements to make restitution. You got know way to go but down. The harder you fight it the worse, and more expensive it is going to get!

You damaged someone's property and then drove away like a coward.
You will get in trouble, what you did was considered hit and run. You won't go to jail, but you may lose your license and have to pay for all the damage you caused to the others persons car.

Maybe you got out of your car to check for damage but didn't see any. Hopefully you are insured. You hit, you pay.

Sorry, but you're already in trouble. This is a matter of not getting into worse trouble. Say that you didn't notice any damage so you didn't think it was necessary to leave information. Apologize and provide your insurance information.

well most likely there were no cameras or anything to actually pin the crime on you so you should be good, make sure to remove any dents, scratches, and or excess paintfrom your car and touch up the scratches and you should be ight

i need to know how things went for you

I've had the same thing happen ,icy conditions and skated into a parked car ,a month or so later I get a letter from the police asking if I'm the driver of my vehicle and were you at the place and time e.t.c. I'm now in contact with the owner of the damaged car which I thought had little or no damage and why I left the scene ,if I pay for the damage could I get away with it ?
