alright, so i'm 18 and the girl i like is 16 and will be 17 in December. Now personally, i don't consider that to be a pedophile at all. But my friends do. They're probably being idiots or trying to be funny, even if the legal age in my state is 18. But it did raise this question. i mean...what really is a pedophile? someone 10 years older that someone and that someone being a minor?...maybe less than 10?

James, You're saying that being 18 and liking a girl going into her 17th year is considered a pedophile by law? REALLY? if this is so, I am stumped. I am a parent, but I also remember in 9th grade being a Freshman at a all girls boarding school liking a boy that was a senior , hoping he would ask me to a dance. He did ask me and it turned out it was just about to turn 18 ( I only knew this because it was his birthday). Something is wrong here, I mean wouldn't a pedophile have to have a distance in age ?Your friends may be right. Amazing how 12yr olds 15yr olds can be young adults , yet given they do a "bad" act they can be given a adult sentencing in the court room. Yet, if 18 yr old is involved with anyone under 18, it is the 18yr old that is blamed. Ug.. I guess it is the parents you should think about and how they feel about you. If you're a nice , respectful young man, and respect the wishes of the parents , that would be my thinking. |
