Okay so if their are Two persons. person number 1 and person number 2 and they dont know each other and then they both have the same idea about a character.So one of the person number 1 has their idea go out in tv,comic books,etc. Then person # 2 with the same idea of person # 1 has his idea go out to but he doesnt know about person # 1. So wat i am trying to ask is that can person # 1 sue person # 2 for copying or what.

It all depends on who actually documents their creation first.
It would be pretty amazing for two people to come up with the exact same idea at the same time though.
They could sue each other. Person #1 would have to be sure he could prove to a jury that he came up with the idea first. If for some reason Person #2 made a better case it would really hurt Person #1's case. |

Unless you actually knew the person, it's most likely not illegal. They had no way of being able to copy you if they didn't know you. Have you ever worked on your character online? If so, some one might have stole the idea, but even if you did, it still wouldn't be illegal because you leaked it on the internet. If you didn't do anything with your character on the internet, then if that person has the same idea, they didn't copy you. I suggest you be the generous one and make a new character and let them keep theirs. |
