First, I'm reluctant to say this, but...
Try to work things out with your uncle first. That may involve returning his money.
Since you've just admitted to participating in a straw purchase of a firearm, which is a federal felony, I wouldn't get the police involved without having legal representation.
If you're concerned he might do something illegal with the gun and he refuses to return it and you aren't able to obtain representation, I'd suggest possibly calling the "crimestoppers" line or other local police tip number. |

No matter who paid for the gun, it belongs to you and it's registered to you and YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR IT! If he does something illegal with that gun, you are an accessory before the fact. You are as guilty as he is and you can go to jail!

Go with the police and tell them. It's not a good idea to let someone else have a weapon that's under your name. You could get in trouble if something were to happen and the gun was used in a incident. |
