Actually something much less pithy but very correct is this: If you seize what someone owned prior to the law the law is ex post facto (after the fact) and unconstitutional.

No. I am very glad of the ruling in DC v Hinkey(sp). I do have some doubt over the comment that it will still be legal to limit firearm owership to some one "judged medically (mental) unfit"

I would not put it passed Obama, Clinton, Boxer, Fienstein et al to insert an authorization to permit BATFE to extract medical data to forbid anyone who EVER was proscribed an anti-depressant or other drugs" The Soviets use medical data to control the people. The Democrats in Congress will do the same.

When you ban gunns and make people give them back then the good people don't have them but bad people get them illegally and then criminals have guns but victims don't and then that causes trouble.

If they did, I'd go to my local gun shop and buy all the assault rifles I could. They can have my guns when they pry them out of my cold, dead hands.

no, that would be when I bought one. When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. And they will feel safer that law abiding citizens won't have any to protect themselves. BTW you can make a gun from a piece of pipe, a spring or rubber band and a nail. Try outlawing that.
