What are the advantages and disadvantages of using juries in criminal trials?

Disagree.
They are guaranteed by the Constitution. Trial by a jury of your peers is more fair, as there are twelve of them, and one single person's bias cannot too greatly effect a verdict. |

Disagree, its bad sometimes, especially for minorities and in a way for whites too. I think it should be reformed.
I find that white juries let white guys walk in cases where they would send minorities straigh to prison. I think white juries find a bunch of reasons to be more sensitive to white suspects. They see their brother/mother/father/sister when another white is on trial. They see a criminal when a african/mexican american is on trial. So we should be tried by a group of our peers. So if your black you should be tried by blacks and if you are white tried by whites. |

No, cause they can save a guy or gal from unfair jail time and sometimes set an innocent free, go juries. |

I would much rather have my fate decided by the deliberations of 12 of my peers. Not one lone judge, that leaves too much room for bias.
In my opinion, that's enough said. |

I disagree. Giving only one person that much power over someone else's sentencing and possibly even life is too much responsibility for one person to bear.
only con with juries is they can be apathetic or be very biased if the media gets a hold of a high profile case. |
