Its so simple it astounds me how simple this issue is and they are still fighting over it, yikes. Remember that guy from Connecticut who tried to blow up Time Square? Yeah he was a citizen, but imagine if an amnesty was given? Yeah more of that where that came from!
Here is a good analogy: My neighbor has an awesome house, with a good video game system, it does not give me the right whatsoever to go over there and break in to play with their video game consoles. Morally, that is messed up.
I also hate it when they bring up the "your ancestors stole this land!" dude, its messed up that they did that, then how come the illegal immigrants can do the same thing? Plus, I was born here, so putting race aside (which is what we are supposed to do it anyway, put race aside) I AM A NATIVE!!!
Its not even fair that we are labeled racists whenever we talk about this. So this is a good idea solution, what if we just have everyone show proof that we are here legally?

Dude, they don't enforce the immigration laws because NEITHER PARTY WANTS TO. The Republicans want their rich business contributors to be happy and neither party wants to lose the Hispanic vote. It's as simple as that.
The answer isn't unconstitutional police state laws like in Arizona, it's solid enforcement that targets the businesses that hire illegal aliens. But that isn't going to happen because the party powers don't want it to happen.
In one respect I support the Arizona law -- maybe it will force the hands of the politicians. |

No one is saying immigration laws shouldn't be enforced. You are arguing against a position that no one holds. The debate over immigration law is far more complicated than you appear to understand. It is not an argument about whether or not laws should be enforced. |
