I work for a shytty company! In Oct 2008 an employed threatened me...for no reason (he thought I played a joke on him, but it wasn't me...but he just assumed and came at me crazy), told me I better not f with him, I know what he can do to me, he was a sniper in the iraq war...blah blah...lots of other stuff. Naturally, I went to my HR, who thought I was overreacting. The guy admitted it, but they didn't remove him and I had to work with him for two more months. I had begged my HR rep to find me a different location cuz I was uncomfy working with him. I was finally removed in Dec. 2008 per the client request, so my company found another site for me to work at. It is now May, and guess who they moved to the site...the guy who threatened me. I've told HR I am nervous and uncomfy working with him, but they claim he needs a job, so they told him not to talk to me.
Shouldn't this guy be fired anyway? I don't have money for a lawyer, but isn't this wrong? Does anybody know of a lawyer who could represent me for free??? lol Im joking on the last one, but it's lawsuit worthy I think. I am afraid of this guy. I've told me office this and they aren't doing anything! "don't talk to her" is junior high school stuff!

You don't need a lot of money to talk to a lawyer. Most firms offer a free consultation and this is definitely something you should talk to an employment lawyer about. Do a web search for "Martindale Hubbell." It's a legal reference website that will help you find a lawyer in your area who specializes in employment law. |

If he is valuable to the company I don't think they would want to fire him,but i think your company is being very insensitive towards your complaint by moving him to your site anyway has he ever apologized after threatening you wrongly? Does he still show signs of resentment or anger towards you? If he does,I don't think you would be safe working there as at the slightest provocation he could become hostile or violent towards you.Talk to family and friends about it and keep them informed.Talk to colleagues he's friendly with and that you're comfortable with maybe they can tell you what he really thinks about you,also filing a police report wouldn't hurt. In the event that an incident occurs you could have proof that you had been previously threatened. |
