Someone told me that if an employer either calls you in or makes you go home early that they have to pay you for at least four hours. example, you go to work and two hours into your shift they tell you to go home.

Depends on the jurisdiction. Here in BC, Canada, it is true that if you start work, they have to pay you minimum 4 hours - unless it is something beyond the company's control, like the power goes out. But if you show up at work and they tell you to go home before you get started, they don't have to pay you anything. |

in asia, if the boss asks u to go back after your two hours work, he/she will just pay u two hours pay!
if the boss had told u about your part time pay wont be consistent, then u cant blame the boss as he/she already told u about it! but if she/he didnt tell u about it, then u can ask him/her to pay u more! |
