After law school, do you need to pass the bar in order to work?
Find answers to your legal question.

After law school, do you need to pass the bar in order to work?

I want to work as a level III Legal Assistant for a high price law firm, or maybe somewhere in public office, maybe for a court or even a good non-profit organization. Do you need to pass the bar for any of these jobs?

A Bachelor's degree is enough to perform the duties of a legal assistant !!

There are things you can do without passing the bar, but the more important question is why would you NOT try to pass the bar? Granted bar pass rates sometimes are around 50%, really, but until you try, you don't know how you'll do. You will certainly get more respect and have more options.

If you want to work in a high-priced law firm I cannot see why they'd want to hire someone who went to law school but didn't try to pass the bar--doesn't show confidence or initiative or anything else they'd likely want.

The law is an overcrowded field and firms are looking for reasons NOT to hire you and you're giving them a great one.

Not sure what constitutes "public office" to your or a court or such, but again, not being able to try a case is a handicap. You don't have to become a litigator, but eliminating that option is bizarre.

Not for a legal assistant, but many lawyers do not want to hire legal assistants with law degrees. Such candidates are overqualified.

Yes. Not sure about the other stuff..but it couldn't hurt to have it under your belt, right? You've already worked this hard, what's one more test?
