Am I allowed to find a second part-time job as well as work my full-time job?
Find answers to your legal question.

Am I allowed to find a second part-time job as well as work my full-time job?

It states this in my contract of my full-time job: "You will not, during your employment with [company name], be concerned or interested (either on your own behalf or on behalf of or in association with any person, whether as an employee or in any other capacity) in any other trade or business arrangement."
I had other answers, but can't seem to view them. Your help is much appreciated.

It sounds odd that your full-time employer can disallow for you to have another job.

Here is a thing about contracts & then the law. If the contract is asking for you to do something that the law doesn't support than you can do the thing that you want to do.

However, you did physically sign a piece of paper that although is a contract is also an "agreement" between 2 parties--you & your employer.

You told your employer that you agreed to this & proved this by signing a piece of paper that stated that.

If you find out through your local Dept of Labor (or Human Resources) that this is not something that they can't hold you too--then you'll also have to consider to see an employment lawyer or ask if they have free legal advice.

The reason being, you're going to have to find out that if you decide to break that agreement, because it's not a legally based agreement--if the company does fire you--do you still have grounds for fighting them.

If it's not that type of job, then it's not such a big deal then, frankly if you know your schedule & your not missing any time for your first job--then they shouldn't say anything.

No you can not, since you signed a contract stating that you will not. The contract is binding until you leave the company.

States frown on agreements that limit your right to make a living. Provided you don't work for a competitor, your current firm will likely not have a problem. Just because it is in a contract doesn't make it an enforceable provision.

If your current job requires a lot of flexibility in availability or unpredictable hours, however, they may have a legitimate concern that your productivity will be affected. You should raise this issue with your supervisor.
