I recently got in an accident which disabled me from working. Since it would be for more then a month before i can work again, my employer(agency) said they would have to end my contract and when i felt better to call them and they would rehire me. when i asked them if im garanteed my job back, they gave me a quick YES. I recently found out i wont be back to work for 2 more months(total of 3 monthes) off work. I just wanted to know whether theres a law about this and what the law states. Would I have a good chance in working again?

FMLA might cover you. If you work for a company with more than 50 employees they have to hold your job for 12 weeks allowing you to use accrued vacation or sick leave and take the rest without pay. They continue benefits like medical insurance. But if your contract would have been up anyhow there isn't much you could demand since you worked for their customer through them.
You have to apply for FMLA as soon as you know you will need it.
A temp agency might not have FMLA liablity and you may not have any vacation, sick leave or medical so it doesn't really matter. Just take a new job when you are ready and they have one. |

Where are you? In rhe US, if you qualify for FMLA leave and apply for it, you'd have some level of job protection for 12 weeks buf not after that. |
