Am I too ugly to be a lawyer?
Find answers to your legal question.

Am I too ugly to be a lawyer?

I have been perusing attorney profiles at law-firms I am interested in and all the women are attractive.

Even if I attend Stanford and do well, would be looks hold me back?

I dress incredibly professionally and I have a smile on my face and a confident aura, but is the whole world turning into a beauty contest?

I prefer corporate law or immigration law.
I guess I am letting this shallow society get to me =)

you look quite normal to me. Employers of lawyers are more interested in their grades and professionalism than their looks.

I do not know what you look like. Some of the busiest and most prosperous attorneys in the U.S. are ugly. There is a woman near where I live who looks physically unattractive, but she gets more business than her self-owned firm can handle. She does mega criminal work. But, she just won a million dollar jury case for wrongful arrest by the Will County Illinois authorities. Man, she is out there in front of juries! She is confident and self-assured.

She is the current criminal attorney of choice in this area, but she is expensive. Physical appearance really has nothing to do with practicing law. If you are good (determined) - you beat the pretty people every time. Your Stanford education looks pretty good to me! I would take that experience over looks everytime. Jeez !!! Put your self-consciousness about physical appearance away. To do otherwise puts self-consciousness IN YOUR WAY. d:o)

I think you look fine.

If anyone only hires you for your looks then they might only want you to play attorney and not really be one. Try not to apply to that one :)

Hi ,

No , you are not !!
A lawyer is beautiful by his deeds and if you are attractive woman and a good lawyer , this would be the best .
But , why you feel you are ugly !? did you forget soon ?
I have a feeling that you are going to be an attractive woman and an excellent lawyer and i wish you the best .

First off, you look fine.

Second, your appearance isn't how you get to be an attorney; if anything, if you look too much like a model a lot of people will not take you seriously.

not at all, in the way i see self-confident is more impotant than anything, and its all come from the inside not the outside. its kind of temperament

BTW u look well

I think you need to look professional, neat and as good as you can, but as long as you don't have something unsightly on your face, you should be fine. It's illegal to discriminate on looks anyway.
