Am i being bullied by my employers ?

I had an accident in work 2 years ago i got legal advice, this year i got a compensation pay out and since then the management at work are giving me a really hard time, ie telling my work mates not to talk to me, and generally treating me like dirt, What do tou think ? P.S i'am still working for the company were i had the accident .

They are trying constructive dismissal, making things so bad that you leave.
The compensation you received did not come from the company itself but their insurers, maybe their premium has gone up.
Consult ACAS, you can contact them either on line or on the phone.
Good luck

yes, in most places retaliation is unlawful. you won a legal settlement and they are retaliating against that.

If you can then try to find a new job, people who feel like they are being mistreated at work usually are. I had a similar problem at one job but it had to do with the fact that I am anglophone (english speaking) which is not fun in an all French province. I didn't stay there very long. I lost my job after defending myself. You don't need that stress in your life. Look for something else and never look back.

Get legal advice ASAP. You have a good case but be careful who you talk to at work, there is always someone trying to gain brownie points with bosses like yours

Dan
you are being bullied and by the question it also looks like you are being harrassed which is also a legal issue which can be brought to court but don't expect to go back to this company if you do take up the harrassment lawsuit

Cindy
It sounds like harassment to me, I'd speak with a lawyer and see what can be done to fix this.

You may have a law suit against them, if you can get some one to testify on your behalf that they are doing this to you.

Seek out some advice from a lawyer.

I wouldn't expect to be there too much longer. They will eventually find a legal reason to fire you and right now, they are making your life so miserable so you'll just quit.

Employers don't warm up and play nice with employees that sue them, so if I were you, I would start looking for another job before you unexpectedly find yourself without one...and it WILL happen, given enough time.

PS: Don't assume that they can't find a legal reason to fire you b/c the magical "one year" is up. I know someone that came in late...by TWO minutes...they wrote her up...in a week and a half, they had three write-ups and she was terminated...legally, for failing to report to work on time. They had it backed up by a time clock and a 1st written, 2nd written, and a final written.

They are trying to protect themselves against you. They think you will sue for every thing so don't want others to cause you any problem or tell you anything. We have a girl like that at work if you told her she looked nice she would probably sue you saying it was harassment. We are all very careful with her. She was on a diet and went from plump to perfect and someone said something then said oh he shouldn't have said anything she will be wondering why he was looking at her body.

Difficult one, maybe you should change jobs, at least they can't give you a bad reference by law. They are definately bullying you, it's pathetic. I've seen it so many times and nothing is ever done.

biggeo65
Well they unfair to you. But you should expect that kind of attitude, as companies they don't like to pay for accidents, and as an accident bring more on the sourface about the safety meters a company take to protect their employes.

Be patient and DO NOT QUIT. That what they try to make you do, to quit, but youMUST NOT DO THIS.

They can't fire you before a year pass from the time you get the compensation, and if they fire you they need to pay you, all the salary and allowance plus a compensation for the years you worked for them.

But if you quit they have to pay nothing, so with their behaviour they try to make you quit, a thing that YOU MUST NOT DO.
Just be patient if you need the job. All you can do.
