Im a student and have been working at least 22 hours a week for the last 8 months.

Depends on where you work, there's no blanket law or anything. Some businesses don't offer any holidays, even to full timers. Ask your boss or a human resources representative if that department exists there. Good luck |

Yes, you will earn pro rata holiday entitlement. So if the working full time week is 37.5 hours then you will earn yourself 22/37.5 of the full entitlement. |

it depends because i used to work only 8 hours a week and I ddin't get holdiay pay. so in ur case yes you are allowed at least up to 16 hours a week |

You should be. Ask your manager but generally if you work part time your still entitled to 5.6 weeks holiday of your normal working week. If your manager suggests you are not entitled to this they are wrong. You are equivalent to a full time worker in your rights, just your holiday pay will be for your contracted hours. For example if your contracted to 8 hours a week thats what you'll be paid, any extra hours you've done it classed as overtime!
You should be treated no less favourably if you are a part-time worker than an equivalent full-timer. This means that if your employer gives extra days off to full-timers they may have to give extra time off to part-time workers as well. |

even part time workers get holiday pay, its the law, your holidays should be worked out like this, you work for the first 3 months with no hol pay then you are entitled to 22 hrs off work with pay, the same is for the next 3 months worked and so on until the full 12 months has gone, if you want 44 hrs off with pay you will have to have worked 6 months before you get it with pay, if you don`t use all your holidays up before the end of the year you will lose them you can`t carry over holidays to the next year. |
