Any advice before before I go before judge on first DUI con fiction?

Not only lost licence..lost my driving job of eight years...family health insurance.

If its your first conviction my first piece of advice would be to join an AA group and bring documentation before you go to the judge. Be honest, and ask for forgiveness. They will usually allow you to keep a drivers license for work only.

Be honest. Being related to an expert witness for the crown, specializing in impared cases, the judge can always tell when you're lying: eye motions, hesitations, inconsistent flow of events. Make sure your laywer has an expert witness to support your side of things as well.

Best of luck.

Well, I hope that is a lesson well learned. You paid a stiffer price than most for your first and hopefully ONLY DUI. The only advice that I have is to get into alcohol treatment before you go. The judge will see you are making an effort and hopefully be lenient.

Plead no contest. If this is your first offense you may be able to get driving privileges to work. I hope you hired an attorney.

All for a few drinks? Couldn't wait till you got home? Nothing you can say to the judge especially once he sees' you not only lost your job, but you also lost your health insurance for your family. To lose your license for a first offense? Highly unlikely. Not only has this happened before, but you repeated the same behavior after being cited. I have a friend who DUI 4 times! Continued getting slaps on the wrist. His 5th time almost two years ago now. He's serving 5 years. Maybe that'll sober you up. You want to kill someone kill yourself, don't put others in danger. I'm a diehard party animal and NEVER have put myself behind the wheel of a car when I am drinking. There is no excuse.

You say this is your first Conviction - but not your first DUI. Have you gotten a deferrment before now? Did you not learn your lesson then?

You should go to jail for a few years too! If you were that drunk to lose your license - you have some issues!

You should be charged with attempted murder with a deadly weapon! Our DUI laws are entirely too lenient.

If you think I am cruel... tough! Try growing up without a parent because some body that was stupid got in their car to drive home after drinking.

Boo freakin' hoo for you - you should count yourself lucky you didn't kill anyone!

Don't know what state you are in, however, in NJ, it is mandatory to lose your license for the first conviction for 6 months plus a 1K fine per year on your insurance. There is no leeway on this law, and the judge will not even give work privileges for DUI.

Since you will have this on your record, you also probably won't be able to get another job driving for atleast 3 years until your license is clear as the employer's insurance will not allow you to be on their policy...sorry..you lose...
