Any positive stories about law school and a law career?

It seems as though I've read nothing but terrible things about law school and law careers. Is there anything positive about it?

And what if someone is just average in law school, what is the career outlook for them?

I absolutely loved law school. I didn't really meet anyone or make friends or whatever. What I enjoyed was learning the subject. I found it all fascinating. I've since graduated and passed the bar. My first act as a real lawyer was to help a friend get a refund on an item that didn't work according to the seller's ad - they were refusing to give the refund, and the thing really was a piece of crap. I wrote one letter, and three weeks later there was a check in the mail made out to my friend. A very exciting experience, and I really believe that the company was in the wrong for refusing to give him his money back - both legally and morally in the wrong.

I was just hired to be a staff attorney at a legal aid office. Low pay, but it's the same kind of exciting stuff - helping people who have been ripped off, or otherwise screwed over or abused. I'm so thrilled to have a part in helping people get justice, especially the people most in need.

I was an above-average student, and I have a long history of public service, so I think my background is somewhat different from average. The one student I met in law school had average grades. She was not able to get a legal job, and is about to open her own law office.

I think there are so many "bad" stories surrounding law school and law careers because many people get lured in for the wrong reasons - money. If you actually love learning about the law, and it really interests you, genuinely, then you will really enjoy law school and probably do better than average. If you are just thinking about being a lawyer for the perceived financial benefits, but have no real interest in the law or the legal system, then you will feel frustrated and inadequate in law school, do poorly, not get the great paying job you were dreaming of, and find yourself complaining.

Law is just like any other job - there is the potential to earn money, but you may not earn that much and it's a lot of work. It's only something to do if you really have an interest and passion for it. If you do, you won't have a bad experience. It's not perfect, but we all have to do something, so you might as well do something that interests you.

No.

We simply have WAY TOO MANY Lawyers - we have a GLUT of Attorneys!

So....even IF you finish law school, you probably won't be able to find a job when you are done.

Now if you want a JOB when you are done with your studies, consider and look into the field of HEALTHCARE!< THIS is where the jobs are! and scholarships!
