Have you had good luck w/the EEOC or did you have to get your own Lawyer involved ? I have filed a discrimination case against a BIG Engineering Co., any help would be appreciated !

If they are anything like office of civil rights in US department of educaton then the only thing they do is shuffle papers, ask why you think such and such, but never actually investigate anything.
As far as getting your own lawyer, lawyers in general don't want to crack open a book unless they are paid by the hour to do so.
What you have to do is get some law books yourself:
Federal Jurisdiction by Erwin Chemerinsky, explains the idea of Jurisdiction, an important topic, as oftentimes a case is thrown out of court due to the lack of it. you have to be in the right court, and have made the complaint against the right people, not exactly straight forward as it sounds. Many a lawyer goes into court with lame cases, but don't care as they get paid anyway.
Torts by Prosser and Keeton, give an idea of legal topics in general, and makes it so you can talk and write like a lawyer, the first book in legal school.
A good legal dictionary, thumb through it often. It is actually entertaining.
Make notes of what you read, and also start a journal of daily activities, oftentimes something happens that does not seem significant, but months later you remember it but have no idea of the date or details. A daily journal can be summited as evidence in court.
See the old Perry Mason episodes on CBS online. The author of the Perry Mason series was a lawyer. Make notes. At the end of each show they have a picture of some law books, look into those, especially the topic of what constitutes evidence.
