If so, where do you live and what happened? I've been laid off for almost 14 weeks (I'm 49 and have worked since I was 14)...we are in a large town and companites seem to be laying off left and right. I applied for a job at the school board here and 254 people applied -- they said last year at this time they were lucky to have 5 applicants.....anyone else out there in the same situation? I get unemployment but it's about to run out.

I use to get lay off all the time I use to work any where there is a shut down is going on and when the job is done I will be done also. |

I have my own business, but it is a nightmare right now. People don't have the extra cash to spend to hire a individual like me...It is a awful spiraling crash, and I don't have unemployment. I am still getting by, but damn it is hard out there right now. I feel for you.
You applied for a school board position? Ok..well you may want to relocate to GA because we are in need..just put out a resume and see what happens...We are really low in that dept. |
