Are 10 minute breaks required by law if the employee wants to bypass it?

at my job it can get pretty busy and pretty stressful.and in my position i have a good amount of responsibility as the project coordinator.my manager tells me i have to take my 10 min break no questions but sometimes it is more stressful to leave everything for 10 min wondering what mess i'll come back to then to not take my break.i tell her i dont want it i would like to bypass it and i wont ask for it later and she says i dont have that option.i know that the 30 min lunch is required no matter what but do i as the employee have the option to refuse my paid 10 min break if i am not going to ask to take it later?

Take your break. I was working in a dental office and I didn't get one break at all...and that's against the law!!!! I'm sure it can get stressful at times, but everyone needs a break...if you didn't get one, then you could become EVEN MORE STRESSED.

Attorney
it is not illegal not to take your break.. breaks are for your protection..

Now.. I would suggest that you ask her for flexibility.. so that you do not need to take a break at a specific time.. this is a perk of management.. flexibility..

ya think
just dont take it n see what happens

it is required by law where I live...if is done for the purpose for employees to be able to have a snack or drink and use the bathroom and just mentally do a quick brain regroup... you have to learn to take them

The world will end the store or where you work will not crumble customers will be their let the other employees do some of the work. I learned this the hard way like you as a boss I always wanted everything perfect and often went a whole day without break or lunch then I stopped that

It depends on which state you are in, but the 10 minute breaks are required in many states. Take it and learn to meditate for 10 min. you will be a more effective worker.
