Yup, it's legal. My former employer paid me less if I was not driving my bus & was working in the classroom.

Mary in Camden, MI

It should be. It is not illegal for a company to pay different rates as long as it is above minimum. Your pay can be affected by the job responsibility, time frame, other factors.

Outside of certain countries, they even pay people different rates just because of nationality. Go figure... I am from the so called 3rd world and had to put up with it. Another matter to dissect.

Judy
As long as each rate is at least minimum wage, it's legal.

It's totally legal you do one thing on certain days and something different on the other days.

I worked at the same place but worked 2 days at their store for $6.50ph and when I worked doing reservations I was paid $8.00ph

of course. If it's that big a deal- address it with your employer

Sure it is. Its odd, but why would you think anyone wrote a law that would address this?

It is..........do you think you should get the same pay for less responsibility............that's what got the union's in trouble.....
