Depending on the type of stock broker you are, it could be very good money or very bad money. It's a meritocracy, so a lot of your compensation is based on commissions. Better brokers will be millionaires. Horrible brokers will not make it. It's competitive.
It can be a good job with nice hours and it can be very social. A typical broker gets in to the office as late as 9 and may leave work at 4-4:30. They often eat dinner, lunch, or get drinks with clients to build relationships. You should be good with people, enjoy people, and it helps to be good at selling. |
