Arizona Paralegal, Can it be done?
Find answers to your legal question.

Arizona Paralegal, Can it be done?

I reside currently in Arizona, and I'm having a hard time finding a college with a Paralegal Studies program. I really need an Online Paralegal course, since transportation is limited.

Does anyone have any ideas, suggestions, anything?

Thanks! :)

You really should go to an ABA accredited school. I live and work in Arizona (Phoenix area). I got my paralegal degree from Everest College in Phoenix. When I was applying for paralegal jobs every single interviewer asked if the school I went to is ABA accredited. It really matters to employers!

With that said, here's a link to ABA's website and their list of approved schools in Arizona. http://www.abanet.org/legalservices/paralegals/directory/az.html

FYI, ABA does not approve online only schools. You can take your general education classes online (I did) but all of your law classes must be taken on campus.

Another FYI, paralegal jobs are drying up fast everywhere. A year or so ago you could do a search on careerbuilder.com and come back with 50-100 job listings for paralegals. I just did one right now and it only came back with 7...

Forget the "online paralegal course". Employers (usually law firms) want employees with BACHELORS degrees that have come from a traditional university/college. At the very least, from an ABA credited school. And those "certificate" programs aren't worth the paper they are printed on...

Warning! Jobs in the field of Law are drying up FAST!! This is not a good field to invest time and/or money in!! Many reasons. THE main reason?........We simply have WAY TOO MANY Legal Professionals - we have a GLUT!! ("Legal Professionals" includes, but is not limited to: Attorneys/Lawyers, Paralegals, Legal Assistants, Legal Secretaries, Bailiffs, Court Reporters, etc, etc.)

Now the law schools know this, but they won't tell you the truth >that the market/economy is SATURATED for the population. The law schools continue to churn out graduates - we have way too many law schools< the root of the problem. A law student is easy money for a law school - a law school has to make very little investment in a law student, compared to other areas of study.

If you want a JOB when you are done with your studies, consider and look into the field of HEALTHCARE! <THIS is where the jobs are! and scholarships!

Good luck.
