Being laid off?

My husband is a 5th year apprentice Electrician. He has worked for the company for about 6 years. He has only missed 5 days the whole 6 years he has been there, he is an awesome worker. We weren't expecting it. His job says that it was due to lack of work. I know he can file for unemployment. we live in Georgia, he works in Tennessee. How do we file for unemployment and is there anything also that he can do besides unemployment, we need all the money we can get. :-P He is going to an Electrical school just for this job! All the info. please. Thank you.

Check with other construction companies or business that need his skills. Look at Craigslist.org and any other job websites there are. Sign up with a temporary employment agency.

if he is been an apprentice for 6 years and hasn't gotten his journeymans card there must something wrong, most electricians have their card by the 5th year, there is a great need for skilled electricians all over the country

File where you live (GA) - they'll sort it out with Tennessee. He can probably file online.

He should be old enough to understand how to file for unemployment. Happens to almost every construction worker.
