The Yahoo people are very simpathic to your complaint... You work at McDonalds and I commend you for getting a job and a pay check... No one has a copy of the labor law for regulating break time for hourly employees... They are just guessing... There is specific hazardous job standards for truck drivers, heavy equipment operators, and machine operators... If these laws are not obeyed the license can be taken.or heavy fines.... Have a talk with the store manager and explain the break policy..... There is a misunderstanding about breaks -- be cool and be nice....
McDonalds has been in business more than 50 years... In those years thousands of students worked at a McDonalds...Many students graduated college... I hope that is where you are planning to be in University... They have scholorships and grants for their employees... And pay checks...
Ya can't get a pay check for doing nothing -- the work is long and requires stamina... But it will not hurt you... Just remember thousands of others did your job and did it well...
Good Luck my friend and enroll in college---ok |

If you are aged 18 or over, and your working day is at least 6 hours, you have the right to an uninterrupted rest break of at least 20 minutes. Lunch breaks are regarded as rest breaks. You may find this link helpful. http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/e_rest_breaks_at_work.pdf |

No, it's illegal, your not supposed to go more than Four hours without a break. Threaten them with an official complaint if they tell you "no" again. |

Where a working period lasts for more than six hours, an adult worker (over 18) is entitled to an uninterrupted rest break of at least 20 minutes.
There is no rule that states when the rest should be taken eg beginning, middle or end of shift |

An employee aged 18 years or over is entitled to a 20 minute undisturbed break for every 6 hour shift they work. They are also entitled to 11 hours rest between each work day and are further entitled to one full day off each week. |

i used to work at Mcdonald's and yeah thats right (perhaps not legal) but right - in your shift you are entitiled to a break- but its completely up to then when you get it, you could work all day and be let out 30 minutes early as your "break" you have no say in it whatsoever, one of the reasons i left. |
