By law,how long does someone have to work without a raise?
|
I have worked for a dental office for 3 years.I received one raise after 9 months, but have since been refused.I am a very good worker and have been promoted to hygene coordinater.I am just wondering if by Ontario law,if there are any laws enforcing employers to give raises by a certain time frame, say if you`ve worked longer than a year,etc..I would greatly appreciate an answer to this question.Thank you

You could work for a company for 20 years and never be given a raise. There is no law saying you must be given a raise, raises are based on company police and personal performances. If you like your job you could bring it up but if you demand it you will most likely be let go. |

They do not have to legally give you a raise, no law or gov't agency is involved. It is based solely on the employer. |

can't speak to Ontario, but there is no such law in Merka, thank the gods. Sounds like your best bet is to look for a new practice that may appreciate you a bit more. Some employers just don't get it, huh? |

There is no law in Canada that says you are entitled to an increase in pay. (Did you honestly think there would be?).
If you are unhappy with your salary, find another job. |
