Can An Employer Legally Fire You Without a Reason?

I was recently fired from my job with no warning, no explaination, and no one will return my phone calls. Its all very childish. Can that legally be done?

Yes, it is legal.
You were an "at will" employee,m which meant you could be left go, at any time, for any reason, or for no reason at all.

At will laws allow this.

Yes. Most employment is "at will". That means they can fire you for whatever reason.

whats this at "will employee", here in the uk an employee can only be dissmissed for gross misconduct otherwise they have to go through the company disciplinary procedure.

Yeah, but they can't fire you for "the wrong" reason. They should have sat you down to explain the reason for the termination. Did they at least do that? I was about to sue my workplace for firing me for a bull**** reason, and called the Regional HR department. They got all worried, "reviewed the tapes" and "determined" that I had nothing to do with the event they fired me for (No, kidding, that's what I'd been telling them all along), so they hired me back.

I think they should at least give you a reason, like, "Sorry, we are out of payroll, and have to cut back.. Blah blah blah."

I don't think they can just terminate you with no word or explanation...

Not in the uk if you have served the necessary induction time and not been found unsatisfactory, unless the business has ceased. You should seek advice about going to an industrial tribunal.

Yes! a few years ago my company had us to sign these paper's. in this booklet stated this company has the right to fire any associates for any reason. if you do not have a union they can fire you any kind of reason. most of my associates that have been fired for attendance or steeling time, production.so it is really like you firing yourself, but they have to give you some reason why they fired you. Good Luck !

NO (according to canada), an employer cannot just fire you for no reason. If you were with them for 3 month they must warn you then fire you if you did something wrong. Otherwise how will you know you got fired.
I say get your a$s up and go to your jobs place and ask to speak to the manager, then simply ask them.

That will show them that you CARE.
