my boss was very unreasonable and treated us like dirt. making us work 12 hour shifts every day and only getting every other weekend off.

I do have a good reason for quiting.

That is truly going to depend on your state employment agency. Here, just the other day, the employment agency stated on the news, that they were going to be scrutinizing who receives their unemployment benefits. So, with the economy the way it is, it would behoove you to just try and stick it out, and begin looking for other employment while you are employed, and leave your current position on a high note. It would be terrible to allow someone to take your source of income, because maybe they don't have the necessary tools to treat people as human being and not their door mat. But my suggestion is to never let someone steal your joy! You know you are not a door mat, and you are a good employee, so allow another prospective employer see that, and you will be the winner in the long run. The old adage "what goes around comes around" is so true......so you don't want to be the receiver of what someone else should have gotten, because you reacted with your heart and not your head. |

No. You might think it was a good reason, but it the unemployment poeple most likely wouldn't agree. |

Most likely not. You generally only get it if you were laid off. But I know of some people that quit had good reasons to and got unemployment. It took longer and they had to do interviews to have their case judged. I would look it up on the EDD.gov website to see if in your case you could possibly get unemployment. I know it's a case by case type thing and no guarantee. |
