Can I file a grievance against my manager?

He's going around spreading LIES to other employees about a argument that we had which is no one else's business. SO to try to nip this situation in the bud I feel that I should so he wont spread any more lies. The lies are very serious because they involve my race. So give me your feedback please.

I would go ahead and file a grievance and make sure you have proof of your accusation otherwise it will be dismissed.

Situations between managers and employees are deemed confidential and he should be aware of that.
