My job contract was going to expire on Dec. 31st 2009. I planned to go my homeland for my marriage. I fixed my marriage date and booked the flight tickets for Jan 15,2010. In the last week of December 2009, my employer informed me about my contract extension for one month, up to 01/29/2010. I told him about my situation and said that I can work only up to 01/14/2010 because my flight is on 01/15/10. He said, "Okay, you can go when you want". I flew to my country on Jan. 15,2010. The Unemployment Department denied my application because they said that you quit your job without a good cause. When I contacted my employer, they told me that you were not voluntarily terminated the job. I am confused about if I can get UI benefits or not? I have already filed an appeal.

No, you cant get unemployment since you left on your own.
Didn't you make plans for other employment since you were to leave the job on the 29th anyway?
