Can I legally give people practical advice, for a fee, on how to improve their confidence?

I do not have a degree in the field or any official certifications, nor would I advertise as having these. I am wondering if I can legally give advice/suggestions on how to raise ones self confidence and charge for it. I have been approached many times by people at work and friends so getting clients would not be a problem. I am mostly wondering about liability/legal issues that could come from this.

You can advise people , but clients can always charge you for deficiency of service under the consumer protection act, as you become a service provider and the client becomes a consumer once you charge a fee !!

That would most likely depend on your state. You should contact the local chamber of commerce and research it more.

sure can.
suggest a visit to 'thinkrightnow.com'
to see some one who did so.

Go down to your county building and start a consulting business permit.

yeah you can answer questions and charge people a fee but to be legal safe and have no legal binds you have to make an agreement or disclosure notice that they sign saying they understand you have no certification or degree and that the advice you give is strictly of an opinion nature.
