Can I read an ongoing investigation at my job if I've been mentioned but not the target of it?

There's an ongoing investigation about a bunch of people at my work. Apparently my name was mentioned, but I'm not being talked to or investigated. Under the Freedom of Information Act, can I request to look at it? Again, I'm not the target of it and my name was only mentioned in it. I want to know why.

If you're not a government employee, definitely not under the Freedom of Information Act. That only applies to the government. Even if you are, I seriously doubt it. Employee investigations tend to be done in secret to protect employees and their reputations.
You're probably better off not inquiring into it right now while it's under investigation, since you're not a target of it and it's better that they don't even think that you're the least bit concerned. |
