Can I sue my boss for bad work environment?

overtime I develop muscle spasm. tension neck and back pain. due to poor ergonomics. my monitor is to side of me and my keyboard is in front of me. so with my neck constantly turning i develop tension, also i had no back support on my chair and my monito was low. i have been in pain for a month and change. so uncomfortable. what are my options

You would only be able to sue him if you could prove that this work environment led to a medical problem. You would need to prove that this led to tendinitis or some other nerve damage... not just discomfort. I know people who have had serious medical problems because of their work environment and have won some big settlements because of it

You cant sue.. But you can tell him ur having problems and see if there is anyway he can either buy new monitor desk and chair. tell him.. or go and buy it urself.. wal mart has pretty cheap stuff... Get a better chair to support your back and get a wrist thing for your key board so u dont strain your wrist! GOod Luck!

You can find another job.

You need to talk to your boss first and see if there is a way to possibly get a new desk so it takes the strain off your body. Talk to the owners before you get sue fever.

Sounds like workman's
comp issue
Go to doctor and get
file started
OSHA maybe good
to notify about
unhealthy work
condition
Laws to protect you
but must follow
correct path and
watch step
carefully so not
get retaliation from
job
Laws against that
also
Talk to lawyer first

You can always sue. You may not win.

You'll have to show that the boss knew of the environment problems and forced you to work in them.

Did you complain? In writing?

Dre is right. get proof from your dr. but talk to your boss first and see if he/she can rectify the situation. if not follow the chain of command. if nothing gets accomplished, then seek legal counsel

have you brought this up to your boss that you have been uncomfortable? if not that is the first thing that needs to be done, he can't read your mind.

First, bring a pillow for the small of your back to provide lumbar support. That's an easy fix.

I work with two screens, one on either side of my keyboard, but I seldom look at the keyboard ... Turn your chair slightly towards the screen, not the keyboard. You should be skilled enough to type without watching the keyboard.

You can suggest to your boss that your set-up is not ideal for good work flow and ask for his help. If you automatically start talking about suing you'll find yourself without a job, and find it difficult to find another.

Ask your boss about it, try talking to them.
if theyre an *** about it, look for work on the low.
