I just had an interview. I was called back for a second interview and they want me to bring in names and numbers of two professional references. I have three former supervisors who I know will give me a good reference, however, I haven't kept in touch two of them. The one that I do speak to occassionally, I am having a hard time getting in touch with her. Can I use the Human Resource Department of a couple of my former jobs as a reference?

Only if you know the person and they know what kind of work you did. And also ask permission from the person, either call them or send them an email asking if it is OK to use them as a reference.
Are your previous supervisors still employed the those companies, if so call them there, and ask if it is OK to give hi/her name as a referral. Call someone else that you know that knows your previous supervisor and see if you can get his/her phone #. If you worked for those people long time ago. Explain to the new employer that you have not kept in touch with your ex-supervisor and that you don't have a way of getting their info.
