Can Shrooms Be Legal?

At a drugs talk, someone said that magic mushrooms can only be illegal when picked of the plant (or whatever they grow on) and that you cannot be arrested if they are in your body. So does this mean they are legal if you eat them straight from the plant?

Class A drugs carry the most serious charges. Maximum penalties you can face are:

* Seven years imprisonment plus an unlimited fine for possession;
* Life imprisonment plus an unlimited fine for supplying or dealing;
* Life imprisonment plus an unlimited fine for possession with intent to supply.

Drug convictions will also affect your chances of future employment, as many employers would not consider your application, and you may find it hard to get into such countries as America and Australia.

Let me correct you and "giggles" here.
Shrooms are definitely illegal. However, you cannot be arrested if they are in your body unless you are operating a vehicle and get caught and only for driving under the influence.
You can only be arrested if you have possession.
