I left a job 3 years ago because I was accepted at a school in another state. I did not have any problems/write ups etc when I worked there. I applied online for the same company when I returned from school and I got no reply. After this i visited the company asking about any openings, they said they did not have any at the time because it was the slow season and told me to try back in a few months. I emailed my supervisor a few months later and got no response so I found another job. I have to find a second job now and saw that the company was hiring so i filled out an application and brought it in and the manager at this location said I could start working there. The next day the manager called me telling me that the owner said that I could not be rehired and would not tell her why. I then was told to contact the owner to try to get some sort of explanation as of why but have not heard anything back. And they do not have any policy against hiring previous employees. Am I being discriminated against? Should I be able to at least know what i did wrong and why didn't they tell me I was not able to be rehired when I visited the company asking for available positions earlier in the year?

some companies have policies rehiring ex employees, as to your question the answer is no they don't have to give you a reason |

They have no obligation to rehire you, or to tell you why if they don't. That isn't discrimination. |
