I would find that a former employer contacting your present employer is treading on soft ground. It also seems that if your present employer, engages in conversation about you, he too is in the same boat. It depends on why they are having a conversation about you. I believe I would let them continue their conversation to see where it leads. You could be making a good case for defamation or probable cause to injure. (Reputation). I would have a friend or someone you can trust, to be in on the know about what is taking place. |

That's the first thing that came to my mind, is WHY would they do THAT??? You're gone; they have no reason too. And your new employer can't divulge any info about you, with out a "Privacy Act" release signed and dated by you! Thereby giving him permission to release info. Otherwise it its a violation of FEDERAL LAW to release any personal info. without your written consent... |

I guess anyone who wants to can contact your present employer. What the present employer is allowed to say is the question. Why would a former employer want to contact your present employer anyway? A grudge? |
