Can a job "MAKE" you take vacation days for your sick days? I even had a doctors note.Why couldn't I just lose?

Im confused,I was out sick. I had 3 days of sick time.I was out 5 days.How could they make me use my vacation days for sick time? Is that legal? Im in the darn on state of Virginia?

paid time off (vacation, sick or personal days) is a matter of policy not law so to answer the question YES they can if that is their policy.

by "law" all that is required is that you be paid at least the applicable minimum wage and/or overtime for the job you perform.

Sick pay and vacation pay are not covered by any Federal Law nor any Virginia labor law.

PTO is considered a gift and as such is not governed by any law, the employer can modify or take it away at any time with out any notice

Depends on how long you've worked for them. Sounds like you've used up a large amount of sick days and it's only April. Call the labor board and ask.
