I am taking courses for my paralegal degree and I was wondering if it is possible to work for a lawyer before I graduate,.If so then how would I go about it

Yes, most do. It depends on the lawyer because they offer you less money. |

I have been working for an attorney for 3 years and will finally graduate this May with an AAS . I was choosen to give advise for my school's paralegal program and I expressed that I believed after the general classes are taken, the student should find a job asap. What you learn at school and at work are two different things. |

Yes, but I'd get a bachelor's degree in ANYTHING instead of a paralegal certificate. It will open many more doors. |

I'm a paralegal -- no degree, no certificate, nothing. It looks nice, but it's not required. Law firms tend to look for experience, not degrees. Besides, that way you'll know if you like the work so getting a degree or certificate wouldn't be a waste of money. |

Yes. Did you just start your coursework? Get out soon, the certificate is useless and a waste of money. Unless it's an actual degree, in which case the credits could be applied towards a bachelors, but if that's not in the cards, save your money and start working. |
