It would depend on the employer. Many don't mind, especially if they have a good replacement waiting.

Sorry, yes, After you put in your resignation, they don't have to keep you. It's really up the employer. They may find your replacement right away, or maybe let you train that person. You may have some type of policy on this so look in your employee handbook. It was nice of you to give that much notice, but I would have waited and given two weeks.
(example) I had a person who worked for me (who was a troublemaker) give me two weeks notice. After two days I told her we had already found her replacement. I did not need the drama. |

Even if the resignation is accepted, the person has every right to ask for cancellation of his resignation and join before one month from the date of resignation. |
