Can an employer demend that you come to work, "fresh shaved"?
Find answers to your legal question.

Can an employer demend that you come to work, "fresh shaved"?

in British Columbia Canada..if you receive a new company policy..that tells you that you must show up for work.."fresh shaved.".is this legal?
The sentence reads.."I expect my staff to take pride in their appearance which means you should come to work clean, fresh shaved, looking fresh and crisp with clothes that illustrate a sense of pride and confidence.
so...is it legal to demand this from employees?

No. It's illegal as hell. I suggest that you file an objection. You could even sue on the basis of religious discrimination, limitation of self expression etc. An employer has no right to give directions on such personal matters

They're company and you signed the rules! Yep Legal!

It is a reasonable request, but I can't speak to its legality. Stubble looks damn sloppy in an office (ok on the weekends)

if that's what it says in the contract and you signed it then probably - especially if you;re in sales, customer facing or in food

Yes.....if you don't like it you have the choice to go elsewhere..........

It is probably not legal

Think about why you wish to fight it though and the message it sends. You will have developed a reputation as an unreasonable, quarrelsome individual and will find yourself on the street or worse yet in a broom closet counting paper clips eight hours a day.

Think about the clients the business has. Would you be able to deal with them at another firm.

Grow up
