Can an empoloyer's human resourses visit you while sick?

Can an empoloyer's human resourses visit you while sick?

My partner is off sick, been 2 weeks, and doctor signed off for another 2.
She is really sick and its not a work dodge, first time in about 15 years.
Now the HR manager wants to do a home visit.
She is not home sick due to a work problem, she has had a professional doctor to sign her off sick with a sick note explaining what for, along with medication.
Surely this must be illegal?

It depends on her work contract. If her employee manual says that a doctor's note is sufficient then a home visit would be going a little overboard. However, the employer has a right to fire your friend for no reason, because most contracts are "at will". If she is part of a union, then I would suggest she talk to her union rep.

As for illegal, there really isn't anything illegal about it. The only thing illegal is harassment and that is hard to prove by an employer being concerned.

I don't think so it is not human resource business to go home visit the sick person unless she is Ur good friend who can clean Ur house and cook for u and make sure u r comfortable while u r sick.

When she is really sick, what harm is there if some one from her office visits her ?

truce
it's not common practice anywhere. he may do it though if they're close enough, like maybe out of concern for your partner. if she truly is sick then there's no need to be worried.

i have no idea if this is illegal.
