2 years ago I was hired for a position. Apparently, a year later, my title was changed but I was never told. I have just found out (after a year). Is there something I can do? If I had my old title, I would be making a lot more.

yes they can change your title, your pay, job description etcetera.
they don't have to pay you any differently for a title or job description change. (unless you are covered by a collective bargaining agreement or contract that specifically covers this issue) |

What was the first title? Were you a manager or Supervisor or Vice President and now find yourself an hourly worker? If that was the case didn't you notice the pay difference?
Why did it take a year for you to see you weren't in the same job position? I can't imagine anything you could do except ask why it happened? and complain. If they messed with your wages argue to get the difference. That seems very unfair. I'm sorry they treated you that way. |

As crappy as it is: There is no federal law against it in the United States.
Unless you are union, which it may violate your collective bargaining agreement. |

If in UK you must raise a formal grievance if you don't get a satisfactory answer through an informal route. Your employer then must follow the statutory grievance procedure. At the hearing they must answer your grievance.
You then have a right of appeal and then you have the option of an employment tribunal to help sort out the problem. If you go for a tribunal ACAS will offer to mediate prior to the tribunal. If that fails, the tribunal will make a judgment. You then have the right of appeal if you feel the tribunal have not acted correctly. |
