Can i get off probation early?

I was sentenced to 5 years of probation, 120 hrs of community service, and roughly 2,300 fine and restitution for residential burglary. I will have been on probation for 1 year and 4 months in January and i wanted to get my lawyer and petition the court for early termination. I gave everything back to the police, was very coopertive, and have no big prior problems in the past. I have had a m.u.i and failor to maintain lane ticket. My question is whether or not it is worth paying my lawyer $600 to go to court and what my odds are of getting off early. I plan to go in the military and was even in R.O.T.C for 2 years in highschool. I have all fines payed and everything completed. I am also up to date with everything. Please give me some good news. All i have ever wanted to do is go into the military and just got off track.

I think you can for good behavior and possibly showing up on time for community service,probation officer,etc.I think they'll let you off easily, if you're going to join the military.I had a co-worker who was in trouble for doing something stupid,but his probation was dismissed when he wanted to join the army,if I'm not mistaken.

Residential burglary? If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. Take your punishment like a man and stop whining.

if you are planning on joining the military then i would say yes, most likely, but i would think that you would have to either enlist first, then it would be terminated, or you would have to provide proof to the court within a certain amount of time that you actually enlisted. as far as just getting off early for no reason, no, i was sentenced to two months probabtion for stealing my own car, and i ended up serving 5 months...

If you got everything completed except for time, I would talk to your probation officer and ask if they would recommend you getting off this early. I want to say yes because court fines and requirements are met but 1 year out of 5 isn't much. It is worth a shot. If your P.O. gives you a go ahead, take the chance in paying your lawyer the $600 and ask your P.O. to speak on your behalf, it always looks better to the judge. Good luck.

You will probably be able to shorten you overall probationary sentence because of good conduct. The unfortunate news, is that you will not be allowed into the military [regardless of branch] because of the residential burglary and other misdemeanors even if committed when you were a minor. I suffered the same consequence of my foolish actions and was denied entry into the Army.

I was sentenced to a 3 years of probation, 60 hrs of community service and had to pay a fine of 5,000 for setting a school bathroom on fire.
I did this on November 16th 2007.
I am already off my probation.
Pretty much, if you have done any recent crimes: they wont let you off.
or if you fail the D.U.I they make you take when you try to get off of your probation.
My Crime is a fellony, I'm not sure if your is or not. but that can also change up what they say to you.
Aloutgh. I'm a 15 year old girl in high school. so i think they might have just let me off.

im a 13 year old girl i got 2 years pro. for slander i had 3 years but you get off early for good behavior

If you have everything paid off, you should be able to maybe be released after 3 years.

Why do you want that for, your going to re-offend anyway, so just ride the time and before you know it you'll be right back inside

typically u have to serve atleast half the timeso if you have 5yrs u have to do2.5yr
